A Christmas gift for a crafty friend.  I made this little pin cushion today.

The pattern is called Spring Violets. It’s designed by clever, Heather Bailey.

You can find a copy of  it here

chunky

———

The other day I came across this great pattern for a circle scarf.

I found it on Lindsi’s lovely blog called peoplewebs.

I have wanted to make one of these for a long time but have just never got round to it.

This pattern was done in chunky yarn which meant I only had to crochet 12 rows!

It was super quick and only took me a few hours to finish – I love that.   It makes a nice change!

Lindsi calls this stitch Catherine’s Wheel and it’s great for creating texture.

If you want make your own version then you can find the pattern here

dresden daze

———

A while ago a made a quilt that I called Dresden Daze.

At the time I wrote a pattern for it but I never got around to putting it on my blog page.

Better late than never.  So here it is!

The Dresden Plates are machine pieced and hand appliqued to the the background blocks.

Then a simple alternate  block with four corner triangles was added.

Finally three quarter plates were added to each corner to form part of the border.

more patterns

I have added two more of my patterns to the pattern page.

Both are pin cushions – one is a little hanging heart and the other one is hooked.

There are more photographs of both of these on my old blog – The Patchwork Orange

Enjoy!

a pattern or two

Hello, not too much crafting going on at the moment as we prepare to move house at the end of this week.   But I thought that you might like to know that I have loaded some free patterns onto my pattern page.

Like this one for the Crazy Daisy Pin Cushion.

I have transferred them over from my old blog.  If you have visited The Patchwork Orange then you will have already seen them.  But for those of you who haven’t, then feel free to take a look.  I still have more patterns to transfer over but first I need to get this move out of the way!
