red chair

———

Santa was very good to me this year.

He gave me a beautiful red chair and I love it!

I popped my loopy granny cushion onto it for the photos.

Eventually, it will find a new home in my craft room.

In the meantime, I am enjoying a wonderful and relaxing  holiday break.

I hope you are too.

loopy granny

———

Recently I bought some new yarn from the commodities market here in Shanghai.

I wanted to try it out on a small project to see if I would like to use it more often.

I thought a cushion might be a good idea.

I am  really pleased with the result even though I don’t usually use black in my work.

Its just a few small granny squares put together, but I am so in love with my loopy edging.

I have seen this edging in books before but I’ve never tried it because the pattern looked too fiddly.

I decided to try a variation on the idea and I am so happy with the way it turned out.

I can see lots of uses for this stitch and I think it adds a little glamour to the humble granny.
